Size Range: 70-90 μm long (Dodge 1982); 70-90 μm wide x 70 to 90 (300) μm long (Horner 2002)
Key Characteristics: Cells large, with body about as long as broad; well developed hypothecal horns that are almost parallel with the apical horn
Confused With: At first glance, with Ceratium macroceros, which has a smaller body and longer and thinner hypothecal horns
